Trekking in Toubkal 2 [ 2 DAYS ]
Trekking in Toubkal 2 days
Jebel Toubkal is Morocco’s highest peak, and the second highest in Africa. Trekkers in the Atlas Mountains often make it their first goal. The ascent is not easy, but it is waiting for anyone in good physical condition who is looking for an adventure. The journey to this rocky giant is s great way to see and experience Berber culture and customs. You will enjoy their warmth and hospitality in the villages along the route to Toubkal. Stunning views of the surrounding land await you at the summit. This is a climb not to be missed!
DAY 1: MARRAKECH–IMLIL–TOUBKAL REFUGE
In the morning we will travel to Imlil, the starting point of our trek, by minibus or 4×4. From here we begin our trek, passing by Sidi Chamharouch, high up by a narrowing river valley where two rivers converge. Enjoy lunch close to this shrine, which regularly attracts groups of religious pilgrims. After lunch we continue to Toubkal Mountain Refuge (3200m). After a traditional Berber dinner, we will spend the night camping nearby or in the Refuge itself, depending on weather conditions.
DAY 2: TOUBKAL REFUGE–TOUBKAL SUMMIT–IMLIL–MARRAKECH
Early departure after breakfast for our ascent of Jebel Toubkal. At the summit enjoy breathtaking 360 degree panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, the peaks of the Anti-Atlas, including its highest point, the Siroua (3304m) and the Haouez plains. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and relax before starting the descent. We then return to Imlil via the Refuge and shrine and return to Marrakech by transport.
